A trip to Castle Książ, the largest and also the greatest of the Lower Silesian castles. From railway station Świebodzice directed to the market in August, where we find signs of the red trail, which will accompany us up to the castle. We are heading up the river valley Pełcznicy that after a short time, turn right (according to the trail) in the direction of the park surrounding the castle.
The first point is the objects Horse Stud. You can visit the historic stables, The riding areas (hippodrome and obstacle course.) You can also hire a carriage and ride through the park. Heading further, according to the red trail in the short time we get to the castle. We will visit include: a monumental Maximilian Hall, Salons Green and Red (with mirror decoration vault and floor) and the Chinese Baroque and Blue, and the oldest, the medieval castle dominating the tower (rebuilt in later periods), open to the visitors. After returning to the courtyard, let us direct your steps toward the castle terraces. After visiting the castle we continue our journey along the red trail. We are moving now down to the Gorge Książ. Along the way we pass the Sudeten Dendrological Garden, where they grow unique specimens of trees - natural monuments. Going further down we come to the bridge on Pełcznica, for which we turn to the left. Further hike through the valley leads to the Ravine Książ. Steep walls of the gorge and humming at the bottom of the river provide us incredible experience. After a while we come to the Old Castle. We continue our journey green trail, which brings us to the exit road from Walbrzych. On its other side there is a famous Wałbrzych Palm House, where he cultivated many varieties of dahlias, rhododendrons, magnolias and azaleas. There are also plants from exotic countries: palm, banana, etc. An interesting fact is that the walls of the Palm House from the early century was paved with lava from the Sicilian volcano Etna. There is also a cafe, where you can spend a few moments.
The return journey should be guided to the center. After about 30 minutes to reach the railway station Wałbrzych-Szczawienko.
